Army Generators: Diesel Engines, Gasoline Engines, And Wire Systems

Having some sort of backup power is extremely important for a lot of reasons.  People can't tell the future, so no one knows when something will happen that will cause the power to go out.  It can happen anywhere as well.  Most of the time people think about the power going out in their home, but this article will focus on something totally different.  Sometimes backup power is needed on a boat, and that's were a marine generator comes in.  There are many different kinds of these generators, but this article will discuss army generators.  The pros and cons will be discussed.

One example of the many army generators for sale is the Generator KW Diesel, item number 246901.  This particular generator is a military diesel generator.  A diesel engine generator is a good choice, because they don't cost a whole lot to run.  Diesel generators such as this one are also believed to run a lot better as well.  This makes them much more valuable than generators that don't run on diesel.  A downfall to a generator such as this would be the fact that it costs a lot of money.  A military diesel generator will cost much more than other army generators for sale that aren't run on diesel fuel.

Another one of the many army generators for sale is the 2.1/1.5kw Generator, item number 240101.  This generator runs on a gasoline engine instead of a diesel engine like the generator mentioned earlier in this article.  There are a lot of benefits to using a gasoline powered generator.  Most gasoline powered generators are pretty small, so they can be used in a lot of places.  Also, generators that run on gasoline usually don't cost a whole lot compared to other generators that run on diesel or natural gas.

There are other things that make army generators different from each other besides what kind of fuel they use.  They can also run on different electrical systems.  One electrical system an army generator can run on is called the 3 phase 4 wire system.  The good thing about this wire system is that it has a neutral that other wire systems, such as a 3 phase 3 wire system, don't have.

A generator that has a neutral allows a generator to get 120 volts or 277 volts in a 3 phase system.  I hope this article has been beneficial to those wondering what the difference is between an army generator that runs on diesel compared to another generator that runs on gasoline.  Also, I hope this article has helped people realize the differences between the 3 phase 4 wire electrical system and the 3 phase and 3 wire electrical system in an army generator.

Wind DC Generators Need Excitement Too

By Gerald Moran
The road away from the electrical grid is not long nor is it littered with broken windmills or busted blades. The fried wind dc generators do not clutter the side banks of our back roads. This in itself shows that, when constructed properly, the wind towers as well as the motors and other materials used in the construction of wind turbine systems or solar energy systems are worth the time and the money. The types of motors used to produce wind energy are either (DC)direct current or (AC) alternate current.

How to Set Up an Off-Grid Home For Less Than $10,000

By Katie B. Marsh
My family and I moved to the Big Island of Hawaii and set up a temporary off-grid home on four acres so that we could live on the land while building our permanent home. The structure was 512 square feet, very cute and cozy, and it had most of the amenities of a conventional home. It was very similar to a yurt but much easier to decorate because of the linear shape. Here is how we did it:
